MEET THE TEAM
DR. HARLEY MARTINMAAS, DC
Dr. Harley grew up in the small town of Ringsted, Iowa. She was first introduced to chiropractic during junior high due to sports related injuries. During high school, chiropractic kept her playing after suffering a severe ankle sprain during her junior softball season. That was when she decided to pursue a career in helping people through chiropractic. She went on to attending North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, IA and Dakota State University in Madison, SD majoring in Exercise Science while playing collegiate softball.
Dr. Harley went on to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor of chiropractic by attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. While at Palmer, she learned about how the body heals itself, how nerve inference affects the healing process, and how chiropractic removes that inference and restores proper healing.
Outside of the office, you will find Dr. Harley spending time outside going on walks with Weston and their dog, Sophie, baking all of the things, and spending time with friends and family.
Weston grew up on a farm outside of the small-town Polo, SD. Before his freshman year of high school, his family moved to Clear Lake, SD. He graduated from Deuel High school before attending Lake Area Technical Institute, where he graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Custom Paint and Fabrication. That degree brought him to Madison, SD where he met his future wife Dr. Harley.
They moved to Davenport, IA to pursue her further schooling at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Throughout the 3 ½ years in Davenport, Weston worked as a sales and leasing consultant at Dahl Ford. That job gave him his love for customer service as well as customer satisfaction. He looks forward to serving his community and teaching about the excellent benefits of Chiropractic. Weston suffered many years from lower back pain to the point where laying down was painful. Through routine Chiropractic care, he is feeling much better! He will tell you that healing doesn’t happen overnight, it will take time and repetition to get results. He cannot wait to hear your success stories about how it changes your life.
When not in the office you will find Weston out on the golf course, fishing, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
Abigail is a Tri-Valley high school 2020 graduate who grew up in Crooks, SD. She has been going to the chiropractor for years when she would have back pain, but would come back a few days later. Once she started working at BLC, she noticed many other amazing changes. She use to have a lot of anxiety, stress, headaches, neck pain/back pain, acid reflux, and irregular periods. After just a few adjustments that all started to go away!
She loves working at BLC because she gets to see how we change people’s lives, including her own!
In her spare time, she likes to go outside and explore nature with friends and family, & painting and journaling. In the future, she would love to travel and see all the beauty the world can offer. She likes trying out different foods from different cities and cultures.
